The beautiful Eiffel tower, ahh it was always a dream of mine to see since I was a little girl. the way it sparkles and lights up the whole city is a heart stopping moment.

ILP – the international language program that absolutely changed my life for the better.
ILP is a program based out of Utah that sends young people off to different countries to teach english. A little bit scary? Of course, but the good kind of scary. I applied to ILP and a few days later I had plans of moving to Ukraine. Leaving your home country to live in another for a short period of time is the best way to love your own life. All I knew was that I was about to leave for 5 months with a group of girls I had never met. ( spoiler alert they became my best friends and it was the time of my life )
While living in Ukraine I learned so much more than I ever imagined, I went from driving my own car, to riding a bus and packed metro everyday. I went from hearing English all day, to never hearing people talk my native language. All so scary, but so eye opening. I lived in a ukrainian home and was treated so kindly by the lovely people there who have been through so much. My problems were so small compared to the people of that country, I had no other choice to be thankful for the place I grew up in and the freedoms I had.
Travel while in Ukraine- While living in Ukraine teaching english, I was able to travel to 10 surrounding European countries. ILP only required us to be teaching school 3-4 hours a day for only 4 days a week, so this left so much time for us to see and love the close countries. ILP also gave us “vacation” days where we would have longer periods of time off of school to travel to wherever we would like.
Depending on where you choose to adventure, you could live in an apartment with other people like you, or with a host family from your country. I was lucky enough to have two absolutely amazing host families and would not change it for the world.
It really is as easy as applying and making yourself go! Check out ILPS website to see the many different places you could go explore. They send girls like us across the world to teach and to travel, so why not you? The world is so wide and we only are here for a short time.
